Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tarmac Paver Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and assisting with asphalt paving equipment to ensure high-quality road, pathway, and surface installations. This role requires a strong understanding of paving operations, attention to detail, and a commitment to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and control tarmac/asphalt paving machines safely and efficiently
- Assist in the laying, spreading, and levelling of asphalt materials
- Monitor machine settings to ensure correct depth, width, and alignment
- Work closely with site supervisors, groundworkers, and roller operators
- Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance on paving equipment
- Ensure work is completed to project specifications and deadlines
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Assist with manual tasks when required, including shovelling and raking
- Valid Paver Ticket / Machine Operator Certification (e.g., CPCS or NPORS) – mandatory
- Proven experience operating asphalt/tarmac paving machines
- Good understanding of paving processes and site operations
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Previous experience on highways or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Additional plant tickets (e.g., roller, dumper)
- CSCS card
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
- Reliable and punctual
